SERIES 2A LAND ROVER , 1962. NOW SOLD TO ESSEX.

We have this very nice series 2a now available It has the 2.25 petrol engine .

This one was manufactured in 1962 and was registered with the British Army as 23DM24. ( There is an Army ID plate in the LH parcel shelf showing this number as well as the chassis number ) This plate was also used to list any major repairs which may have been carried out although from pas experience most of these plates do not have anything recorded on them .This plate can be seen in one of the pictures .

When cast by the army the Land Rover was registered into civilian use in 1969 and was given the "G" prefix number which was current at that time.

The colour is traditional Land Rover Marine Blue and the body panels are nice and straight with a period coach painted finish .

This chassis is good and solid, the footwells / door pillars have been previously replaced and reaired as required ..

The leaf spring suspension is the parabolic type and the tyres are Maxxis 764 , 235 -85-16 which give this land rover a nice chunky appearance 

The canvas tilt has the larger Land Rover Defender style side windows giving a great look and are more practical for the passengers sitting on the rear bench seats .
