To give it it's correct army title it is a -

Truck Utility FFR 1/2 Ton 4x4 Rover Series 3.

This is the 50th anniversary year of the lightweight land rover !

Lightweight landrover's or Airportable's as they are also known were designed to be transported by helicopters and carried in transport aircraft , but soon became the standard short wheel base land rover for the British Army as well as other armies around the world .

IThis one went into Into service with the MOD in 1980 and was taken out of service in 1993 then disposed of in 1996 .

We have all the MOt's since 1996, a complete MOD vehicle record book and a print out showing all that you need top know about it's MOD service history .

The record book shows that  amongst other things it has had a new chassis , new engine and all sorts of other items during it's service life .

Since leaving the army it has had a complete overhaul by an enthusiast and he hsa also put in a new recon MOD engine , new gearbox and clutch , a complete new bulkhead  as well as a new canvas tilt.

The tyres have all been replaced with the correct looking replacemnts.

In the file there are receipts for work and spare parst used in the restoration.

The vehicle drives as well as it looks and it has all the correct original features

The vehicle has been kept by the last owner in a underfloor heated garage , but as he was moving house it has become surplus to requirements 

I do not think we will find another one as good as this one !
