Jake Wright Ltd pride our self on our knowledge base, reputation and capabilities, honed over nearly 50 years of trading in these vehicles. We have many returning customers, which further consolidates our good reputation and we have Land Rover friends all over the world !
Buying a used vehicle from us is very straight forward, and we are always willing to help you through the process.
We have however listed as required by the current 2015 Consumer rights act, your rights regarding the purchase of a vehicle from us, in order to comply with the distance selling aspects of the afore mentioned act.
When buying a vehicle from Jake Wright Limited (details of contact name and address are clearly shown on our web site) ,the following applies -
The Vehicle is sold as described on our web site (if applicable further follow up emails help describe the condition of the vehicle) – with an indicated price – which includes all local taxes
The vehicle of your choice can be secured with a payment of a 10% non refundable – but transferable deposit (to another vehicle) – over the telephone.
The balance of the base vehicle cost becomes due upon notification from us of the vehicle being complete and ready for despatch.
Personalised extras ordered for the vehicle should be paid for in full at the time of order.
These extras are deemed to turn the vehicle into a unique “Bespoke" one off vehicle and in the event of cancellation of the contract, the cost of these cannot be refunded.
The advertised price of a vehicle includes an administration fee of £495.
We accept various forms of payment including
Cheque – once funds are cleared
Once we have notified you that the vehicle is completed – you have the option of collecting it from us here in Burley in Wharfedale, or we can arrange to have it delivered to you using our trusted logistics partner. The charges for this are £1.85 + VAT per mile (based on a one way trip this is none refundable if the vehicle is rejected for any reason).
All our vehicles are sold with a 3 month “return to base” mechanical warranty. This covers for failure of engine, gearbox, transfer box, axles, fuel tank
Please note – minor oil leaks are not covered by this warranty
In the first instance of a failure being detected, contact ourselves on 01943 863530 to discuss the issue – we will then decide whether the vehicle requires sending back to us (at your cost), in which case we will carry out the repairs at our cost – subject to this being due to mechanical failure, not operator mis-use. In some circumstances parts could be identified in conjunction with your local mechanics, and sent to them in order to carry out the work, in this case we would cover the cost of the parts only.
(Vehicles sold outside the United Kingdom are not covered by this warranty)
Your Right to Cancel
You have the right to cancel the sale of vehicle contract within 14 days
The cancellation period will expire after 14 days from the day on which you acquire the vehicle, or the date on which we confirm that the vehicle is available for delivery.
We will make any deduction from the reimbursement for any loss in value of the vehicle, if the loss is a direct result of any actions you have taken.
You will have no right to cancel any items or accessories that have been added to the vehicle in order to personalise it.
Returning the Vehicle
You will return the vehicle at your cost
You will send the vehicle back within 14 days of communicating to us your cancellation of the contract and it must arrive during normal working hours and it must be accompanied with all the relevant paperwork as was provided at the time of purchase.
We will make the reimbursement without due delay from the date we receive your intention to cancel the contract. In any event this will be no later than 14 days from receipt of the vehicle back here subject to the return of the latest copy of the V5 registation document along with the original documentation.
Reimbursement will be made using the same method that was used to purchase the vehicle.
Under The Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2015, for distance sales only, you have a right to cancel an agreement in writing within 14 days and obtain a refund. This act states that the supply of goods that are made to the customer’s specifications or are clearly personalised "Bespoke" and are non-returnable.
Your statutory rights are not affected by any of our policies.
